Four years ago, after a struggle with infertility and a round of IVF, my husband and I were delighted to find out that we were expecting twin girls. Three years later, just when we were starting to regain some equilibrium in our lives and starting to contemplate the possibility of trying to have a 3rd child, I found out that I was pregnant (a welcome surprise) with another set of twin girls (a total shock!). Before I knew it, I was the mother of 4 children under the age of 4. The babies have recently turned one, and reflecting back on this crazy, joy-filled, chaotic, sleep-starved year, I realized that taking care of twins was much easier the second time around because of things that I had figured out the first. So, I am going to try to write down my best practical tips to help others get a jump-start on surviving their own adventures with twins.
